HBC Hydrogen Impact 2021 Conference to Include Three Discipline-Focused Session Tracks on Technology, Infrastructure, and Business Themes
May 4, 2021 (TORONTO, ON) – Hydrogen technology business developments are being realized now at an ever-increasing pace. Advances in technology, forging of alliances, implementation of project developments, and growing investments are collectively transforming our energy future with hydrogen to play an integral role in it.
Importantly, the growing recognition of hydrogen’s strength to fight climate change has now also rallied support from every major sector of the economy. The Hydrogen Business Council (HBC) is dedicated to illuminating the potential of this transformation in its upcoming 2021 virtual conference that will examine the many dimensions of impact. The official event date is being set for Friday Nov. 12, 2021 with the possibility for pre-conference kick-off events in the afternoon of Nov. 11. Tickets will be made available in the months leading up to the virtual conference.
With last year’s successful first virtual delivery of an HBC industry event, the 2021 conference will be hosted online again. The experience with last fall’s conference proved that the HBC was able to bring important conversations on hydrogen technologies to more than 300 participants from all across Canada as well as from the US and abroad – an impressive expansion of audience reach from its five on-site conferences of prior years. While the HBC hopes that in-person events will return as a stable option in the future, conference organizers are greatly looking forward to bringing this year’s event online again, with the aim to draw even more participants than before into the collaborative discussions on making a positive impact with hydrogen.
For the 2021 program, the HBC is building on the successful model of last fall’s online conference, which had expanded the program into three parallel tracks for the day. The businesses track for this year’s event will be directed by Mr. Brad Chittick, President of the HBC. He will be joined by Mr. Ry Smith, HBC Chair, who will be running the track on infrastructure and economics, as well as Mr. Lauge Nielsen of Pattern Energy as director of the technology and applications track. Mr. Robert Stasko, Executive Director of the HBC, will be leading both a policy plenary and a separate session on the connections between policy and infrastructure.
An inaugural group of confirmed conference sponsors and partners will be announced shortly.
The HBC is also planning an exciting run-up to the conference with a series of mini-seminars for the HBC stakeholders, all free of charge, which will be accessible through the conference website. The first seminar will be an introduction to hydrogen energy instructed by Mr. Stasko in the spring.
